Sue is the founder of the Dulwich WI and was instrumental in its set-up back in 2018. A Dulwich resident for over 30 years, she’s seen the area evolve in many ways. Before retiring, Sue enjoyed a long career in IT.
Now, she spends her time crafting Tudor-style miniatures in her workshop — a passion that’s become a thriving business. Each year, she’s invited to Chicago to teach her miniature-making skills to enthusiasts from around the world. When she’s not working on her dolls’ houses, Sue can be found up-cycling furniture in decoupage, knitting, crocheting, or quilting.
Suzanne was one of the founding members of the Dulwich WI and is Dulwich through and through. Born, raised, and now running her business in East Dulwich, her roots here run deep.
Her love of afternoon tea spills into every part of her life and work — you’ll rarely see her without a cup of tea and a freshly baked scone (but is it jam or cream first… you decide!).
When she’s not at work, Suzanne enjoys walks in the park with her Chihuahua, the ever-glamorous Dame Dolly of Dulwich.
Sally is a proud “south-of-the-river” gal. She first moved to West Dulwich, then North Dulwich, and raised her three daughters just down the road in Herne Hill. After an 18-year spell in Kew, she returned to East Dulwich in 2020 — now a hub of creativity and culture, and much closer to her family.
A self-confessed social butterfly, Sally loves the arts, good food, a glass of wine, and a proper natter. She’s also a passionate amateur artist and sings in an a cappella choir in Herne Hill. Sally thrives on the buzz of East Dulwich life and proudly serves as Secretary of the DWI.
Suze lived in East Dulwich for 20 years, where she raised her children and played an active role in the local community. Though now based in Crystal Palace, she still considers herself an East Dulwich girl at heart.
After over 25 years working as a Graphic Designer for Lambeth Council, Suze took early retirement in 2015 following her Parkinson’s diagnosis at 45. These days, she channels her creativity into all things crafty, from gardening in summer to crocheting and knitting through the winter months. She’s also a lifelong fan of The Vapors — and never misses a chance to see them live!
