At the Dulwich Women’s Institute (Dulwich WI), you’ll be welcomed into an inclusive women’s community in Dulwich— a warm, supportive space where women come together to share, learn, and grow. We believe in creating a friendly and safe environment where every woman feels valued and empowered.
We’re proud to foster a culture rooted in understanding, kindness, and mutual respect. This means every member is treated with dignity, and differences in opinion, background, or experience are embraced. We know that diversity is our strength, and that each woman brings something unique to the group.
Our community is built on the belief that women thrive when they lift each other up. Whether you’re looking for friendship, creative inspiration, or simply a place to feel heard, the Dulwich WI offers a welcoming environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgement or exclusion.
We hold monthly meetings and organise a wide variety of clubs & groups — from hands-on craft workshops and inspiring talks to wellbeing sessions and local charity initiatives. Everything we do is shaped by our values of respect, kindness, and community.
At the heart of the Dulwich WI is a strong commitment to inclusivity. We strive to make our events, discussions, and social gatherings open and accessible to all women — regardless of age, background, or experience. We encourage open dialogue and celebrate a wide range of perspectives.
As a truly inclusive women’s community in Dulwich, we’re proud to be a place where connection, creativity and compassion come together. Our ethos guides every aspect of what we do — from the way we welcome new members to the way we support each other, our neighbourhood, and the world around us.
A Statement to Our Community
At Dulwich WI, we are proud to be a welcoming, supportive and inclusive community for all women.
We are disappointed by the recent changes to national WI membership rules. As a committee, we want to reaffirm our commitment to fostering a space where all women feel valued, respected and able to participate fully.
In line with the WI’s own Equality, Diversity and Inclusion principles, we recognise that being a woman encompasses both biology and lived experience. We remain dedicated to creating an environment that reflects this understanding, where kindness, respect and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do.
We will continue to listen, learn and support our members and wider community, ensuring Dulwich WI remains a place where everyone feels they belong.
