When it comes to south east London folk lore then no one, knows more than George Hoyle, and this evening we had the absolute pleasure of meeting him, and listening to his interesting talk!

From Alistair Crowley in Camberwell to the magnificent seven cemeteries, which includes Nunhead and West Norwood! (Haunted by the ghost of a Bank of England clerk - boo!)
.
Hidden rivers include Effra, Peck were explored, then how and where they run to!
.
Then, moving on to undertakers….. Why would Albins never take the Rotherhithe Tunnel? Because you only go under once!
.
The Deptford Jack was explained and then we went on to the May and Halloween Festivals - and all under the light of a full moon too!
.
Have you heard of Severndroog Castle? We heard all about it this evening!
.
The whole evening was magical and split between folk lore, tales and quite a few ditty’s!

Highly recommend an evening with George!
